Want to test our torque sensors for electric bikes?

Common questions about E-bike Torque Sensors.

  • Our torque sensors use active magnetostrictive technology.

This means that the spindle is made from a non-magnetic material, around which a magnetic field is created when the torque sensor is powered on.

This magnetic field changes once torque is applied, and the force is converted to an electric signal. The signal produced is proportionate to the torque applied, resulting in a smooth assisted power delivery with the pedalling.

  • If you want to test any AUTORQ products, please email us outlining what you are manufacturing, which torque sensor you would like to try, and the chain line you use.

We have three ways of supplying you with a sample.

We can send the torque sensor only, the torque sensor alongside other electronic components, or as part of a complete bike.

Please feel free to get in touch, and we will find the best solution to fit your needs.

  • The torque sensor is mounted inside one of our custom-made bottom brackets, designed to industry standards and can be used in place of a traditional, mechanical bottom bracket.

AUTORQ products use the standard threads of BSA and T47, so they are compatible with most frames and a wide range of cranksets. Our torque sensors use a Higo or Julet plug to link to the rest of the system, so it is necessary to plan cable routing from the underside of the bottom bracket. This can be accommodated internally in hollow frames.
